President's Message, Amber Simpson

Dear St. Louis Chapter Members & Partners:

2009 was truly a milestone year as it marked our 25th Anniversary of service in St. Louis! We ended our year in celebration and reflection on our charge to “Connect with Power and Re-Connect with Purpose” to the mission and vision of our great organization, which is to be the premier organization supporting the intellectual, professional and economic wealth of Blacks in the Greater St. Louis Region. Over these past 25 years, we have built a legacy of service, opportunity and growth – not only for our members, but also for numerous students, professionals and corporate & community partners that have collaborated with us through our innovative professional and academic programs. While we continue to make our mark in the professional community, we also take the time to enjoy each other and strengthen our personal networks.

At our Anniversary Gala, I asked you to reflect on how many people have lived and died so that organizations such as the National Black MBA Association can even exist. I asked you to reflect on the duty each of us has to never forget the price that was paid for us to be “professionals” and the responsibility we have to connect with each other, thus unleashing the power that is in each of us. Our purpose as an organization is to contribute to the success and growth of our members, partners and the community-at-large. We do this by actively participating in Chapter programs, serving as volunteers in Community Outreach events and volunteering as leaders through our committees and leadership positions. If you are committed to that purpose, then show your resolve by working to make 2010 our best year ever, as we launch 25 more years of service, power and purpose!

Sincerely Yours,

Amber Simpson
